We've had two projects done by Weld... plumbing for a kitchen remodel, and replacing old galvanized pipe and very old valves in our supply line. The work done by Marcus, James, Dan and Joel is perfect. They are experts in what they do. Fair pricing, punctual, thorough—great attention to detail. They are all incredibly decent folks to work with. We'd give them six stars if that was possible!

I discovered Weld & Sons through the Next-door app, where many of my neighbors had highly recommended them. Wanting to support a local, family-owned business, I decided to give them a try. Clyde V. arrived promptly as scheduled, and the company kept me informed with text updates and reminders. Clyde even called to let me know he was on his way. He was professional, courteous, and efficient, completing the job quickly and providing valuable tips to prevent future issues. Not only was he fast and skilled, but he also came in under what I had budgeted! I highly recommend Weld & Sons for any plumbing needs.

We had an exceptionally good experience with Weld & Sons in replacing our very old hot water heaters. We received a very competitive bid from pictures that we sent and arranged a prompt installation time. Mark and his team were on time, extremely professional, completed the job in just a couple of hours and gave detailed instructions on the operation and maintenance of the new hot water heaters. Highly recommended!!!

Before choosing this company to install a hot water heater, I did my research with respect to quality of work, fairness of price, and customer satisfaction. You can add my name as a very satisfied customer. And major kudos to Josh, who was thorough, courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. He actually went above and beyond with regard to correcting some issues left by the last two hot water heater installations.

I love this company. Most of the time I feel like service calls are an added stress in my life. I don’t feel that way when I call Weld for services. They answered my call at 7:05 am my service was complete by 10:00 am. I had prearranged an appliance removal and install with another service provider that couldn’t be done with out a stuck valve being replaced. In the future I will just trust my installs with Weld. It’s money going in the right direction, they are good people.

Once again, Weld and Sons helped us out with same day service for issues with our kitchen faucet. Much thanks to Kent, who analyzed the problem and provided us with the best options on how to proceed. A short time later, the job was done and we are very happy with the results. Thanks Kent and Weld and Sons!

18 Feb 2025: A crack in a basement sewer pipe that serves part of our house opened up, creating a mess. We were referred to Weld & Sons, and they responded quickly, after another company cleaned and disinfected most of the mess.Because the pipe ran through cement blocks, there was no telling how far the crack extended. As a result, access to the hidden portion had to be gained through a slate tile floor above the pipe. They were able to chisel and jack-hammer through that floor and salvage the tiles intact. They removed about an 8-foot section of the cracked iron pipe, replaced it with PVC and bonded it into undamaged pipes at each end. Three workers got the job done in about six hours, cleaned up nicely and charged substantially less than another company that advertises extensively on TV.

I have used Weld and Sons several times since buying my house in 2016 for various plumbing jobs. I had been satisfied with their work and had recommended them to other friends who are homeowners in the past. I will not be a return customer due to their handling of my backdrafting water heater. In 2018, they installed a natural vent water heater that according to my receipt came with an 8 year warranty. The water heater failed in 2023 and began slowly leaking. They did come right out and replaced it being it was still under warranty but charged me $400 for a new install (as that wasn't 'covered') and said the new heater would retain the old warranty not begin anew. In 2024 after having insulation installed in my attic - it was brought to my attention by the insulating team the water heater was backdrafting. I called Weld who again came out promptly to 'fix' the backdrafting issue. The plumber who came put a higher piece of venting above the water heater as the one they had previously done at the replacement in 2023 was 'too short'. They tested and said it was not backdrafting and said it was fixed. This was October 2024. I had an energy audit done in December 2024. The energy auditors tested the water heater as part of their visit and said it was backdrafting. I told them Weld had been out did some 'fixes' and said it was not backdrafting. I went down and felt that it was indeed still backdrafting. I called Weld back - frustrated at this point - that it was not fixed the first time and asked them to come back out. They told me they had tested it on their previous trip in October, it wasn't backdrafting so it 'had to be an HVAC issue with the venting' and they could no longer be of help - I should call someone who specializes in HVAC or Weld COULD come back, if that's what I wanted but they weren't going to do anything about the venting. I was very disappointed. I have been worried for months over potential health concerns for myself and my cat as backdrafting CAN mean that CO and other exhaust gases are leaking into the home and it felt like a complete brush off OR just a way for them to make continued money if I REALLY wanted them to come back. It was just a one and done as far as customer service and 'honoring the warranty' and more importantly health and safety concerns presented with the issue. Needless to say - I am so thankful I found a reliable, trustworthy, honest company in Maple Grove who came out TODAY and THE PLUMBER (NOT HVAC), after a thorough examination inside the house, REMOVING AND LOOKING AT VENTING, went on the roof and discovered the chimney cap was pushed down too low to the top of the vent. Immediately after adjusting it to the proper height - my water heater stopped backdrafting. Besides adjusting the vent cap, they also had to replace my diverter as the one that had been put on by Weld, inexplicably did not have an inside middle circular part with tabs that helps prevent backdrafting once installed. Never once did Weld talk about checking the chimney cap or address that could be a possible cause of the backdrafting. They also did not explain why they put on that diverter. If you need a new water heater or are having water heater issues go elsewhere. I am definitely so happy and thankful that I did and now have a functioning water heater again.
